A group of them were sent in to retrieve supplies while the ships remained out at sea. When the men returned and were asked what the island was like they could not remember. They sent another group and when the group returned, they could not remember what had happened on the island. Thus the island was named Amnestic Island. Though some call it "The Forgotten Island".
